An invoice with no way to pay it asks the customer to do work: find their banking app, copy an IBAN, type a reference. A Mollie payment link removes all of that: Invoice Office adds it to the invoice for you, and Mollie handles the payment methods behind it.
What changes
- The customer pays from the document they already have open, at the moment they are looking at it.
- The amount is already filled in, so there is no reference to mistype and nothing for you to match up afterwards.
- The methods are Mollie’s, so your customer pays however they normally would rather than however you happen to accept.
- You create nothing by hand. The link is generated and added to the invoice for you.
- Nothing to register by hand. When a link is paid in full, Invoice Office registers the payment against the invoice.
The link is printed in the invoice’s Document terms & conditions block and added to the email text the customer receives.
What it costs
The Mollie payment link is part of the Professional plan — nothing additional to buy from Invoice Office. See pricing.
Three things worth knowing up front
The link appears when you finalise, not in concept. It is created for the final invoice total, so a concept invoice does not have one yet.
The link needs the Document terms & conditions block. That block is where the invoice prints the link. If it is switched off in your document design, the link still reaches the email, but not the invoice.
The payment methods are decided in Mollie, not here. Enable the ones you want on the Mollie account whose key you used, and those are what your customers see at checkout.
How to set up the Mollie integration connector
- Open the connector. Go to Settings → Integration connectors and open the Mollie payment link card.
- Connect your Mollie account. On the Connect tab, switch Active on and enter your API-key and Profile-key. The help article shows where to find both in Mollie.
- Configure the link. On the Configuration tab, set the Payment link text for each language you invoice in. Optionally add a Mollie payment confirmation link and switch on Add QR code.
- Save the connector. Click Save in the top-right.
- Switch on the Document terms & conditions block. Go to Settings → Document designs, open the design your invoices use, and on its Blocks tab turn Document terms & conditions on. Click Save.
- Create and finalise an invoice. While the connector is Active, every new invoice gets the payment link automatically.
